The Languages Service offers grants to take languages courses and exams for certification in Catalan, English and other languages of any level.

Who can apply?

Teaching and research staff, administrative and service staff, and trainee research staff of the University of Valencia.

What do they cover?

Courses and exams taken between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024.

When to apply

From 1 February to 31 October 2024. OPEN

How much can be granted?

€650 between courses and tests.

When are the resolutions announced?

Two resolutions will be published on the University's official board.

  • Applications between February and June: resolution in July.
  • Applications between July and October: resolution in November.

Which courses can be taken?

Courses organised by Centre d’Idiomes and Confucius Institute of the University of Valencia, official schools of languagesCentre Carles SalvadorCentro G. LeopardiCentre Alemany and Institut Français.

Courses of Catalan and English on the University campuses organised by Centre d’Idiomes will also be granted with special conditions: 321€ (final price) and possibility of payment in three instalments.

How to apply?

Applicants have to register for a language course within the dates established by the centre of their choice and attend the lessons. Once you finish the course, fill in this application form and attach a copy of the receipt and a certificate showing that you passed the course. If the course is taken in the Centre d’Idiomes, this information is not needed, since the Centre d'Idiomes will send the Languages Service the list of students who have attended at least 80% of the classes.

How much can be granted?

The Languages Service will pay a percentage of the cost of the course according to:

  • Languages courses taken in Centre d’Idiomes of the University of Valencia, Catalan and English courses taken in official schools of languages, and Catalan courses organised by Centre Carles Salvador: 100%
  • Other language courses taken in official schools of languages, Centro G. Leopardi, Centro Alemán and Institut Français: 50%

Course fees, enrolment fees or any other fees will not be granted, except for Catalan and English courses at the workplace offered by Centre d’Idiomes.

Which certificates can be granted?

CIEACOVA Catalan tests; CELI Italian tests and CAPLE Portuguese tests organised by the University of Valencia; JQCV Catalan tests, exams organised by Centre d’Idiomes de la UV. And also exams taken in official schools of languages, DELF-DALF by Institut Fraçais, Goethe-Institut by Centre Alemany and CELI by Centro G. Leopardi.

To get a grant you must have passed an exam to certify your level between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024.

How to apply?

Applicants have to register for the exams. Once you pass the exam, fill in the application form and prove it following these guidelines:

  • For certificates issued by the University of Valencia, fill in the application form. No more documents are required.
  • For certificates issued by Centre d’Idiomes of the University of Valencia and by other institutions, fill in the application form and attach the payment receipt as well as a scanned copy of the certificate.

How much can be granted?

The Languages Service will pay a percentage of the examination fees according to:

  • CIEACOVA and JQCV certificates of Catalan, Catalan and English certificates issued by official schools of languages, PACLE certificates issued by Centre d’Idiomes of the University of Valencia: 100%
  • CELI and CAPLE exams organised by the University of Valencia, other non official languages exams taken in official schools of languages, and other English exams of the Centre d'Idiomes, DELF-DALF issued by Institut Français, Goethe-Institut issued by Centre Alemany and CELI issued by Centro G. Leopardi: 50%

Only one certificate per language and level will be granted.
