PHASE OUT OF THE DOCTORAL PROGRAMMES PREVIOUS TO THE ROYAL DECREE 99/2011
Phase out of the Programmes regulated by the Royal Decree 778/98
The students who start doctoral studies by the RD 778/1998 have until 11 February 2016 for defending the thesis (the provisional submission should be done at the corresponding Office of the Secretary, before 2 November 2015).
Phase out of the Programmes regulated by the Royal Decree 56/2005
The students who start doctoral studies by the RD 56/2005 will have until 11 February 2016 for defending the thesis (the provisional submission should be done at the corresponding Office of the Secretary, before 2 November 2015).
Phase out of the Programmes regulated by the Royal Decree 1393/2007
The Royal Decree 99/2011, from 28 January 2011 (BOE 10/02/2011) sets out to 5 years the deadline for presenting and defending the doctoral thesis of the students that at the entry in force of this Royal Decree have already started the doctoral studies regulated by previous regulations. Therefore, they must defend the thesis before 11 February 2016 (the provisional submission should be done at the corresponding Office of the Secretary, before 2 November 2015).
Nevertheless, the students who have started their doctoral studies in the academic years 2011-12, 2012-2013 or 2013-2014, in accordance with the secondary interim provision of the mentioned Royal Decree, will have until 30 September 2017 for defending the doctoral thesis (the provisional submission should be done at the corresponding Office of the Secretary, at least two months before).
Thus, the students of the Doctoral Programmes in Legal Studies, Political and Crime Sciences, enroled in the academic year 2011-12, 2012-13 or 2013-2014 will have until 30 September 2017 for presenting their doctoral thesis, date in which the programme will be totally phased out by law. The submission of the thesis should be done in the Office of the Secretary of the Faculty of Law before 1 June 2017.
