Activity organised as part of the programme of events to mark 25 November at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication. A group of students from the University of Valencia will visit us to share how literature can be a powerful tool against gender violence. Through readings, reflections and open dialogue, we will explore the role of words in building equality, respect and peace. A relatable and participatory cultural activity that invites us to discover how books inspire real change in everyday life. |

To mark the celebration of 8 March and March for Equality at the University of Valencia, the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication has prepared an extensive programme of activities, organised by teaching staff and students. The range of activities is very diverse and interesting, and you can check them out on the posters/calendars we have prepared for the occasion. In addition, remember that you can check the calendar of all the events organised in the different faculties and campuses of the University of Valencia on the website of the University of Valencia's Equality Unit. This year, the institutional event prepared by the Vice-Rectorate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies will be held in the Sala de Grados of our faculty and will be dedicated to the manosfera, that mixture of virtual spaces where misogynistic and anti-feminist attitudes are spread. Academics, streamers and YouTubers will participate, discussing situations they have experienced and whether the creation of content by women on traditionally male topics such as technology, video games or sport is advancing equality. |

To mark 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication has planned several activities for this week and next. The institutional events of the #UV begin at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences on Tuesday 21 November at 12 noon with a round table discussion entitled "#seacabo. New times for women in sport‘, with the participation of professional clay pigeon shooter and current secretary of the Association for Women in Professional Sport, Pilar Calvo; journalist and author of the ’Manual de Estilo Periodístico de Deporte Femenino‘ (Style Guide for Women's Sports Journalism), Anna Boluda; the director of the ’Women and Sport" Chair UV-GVA, Maite Pellicer; and the director of the Sports Service at the University of Valencia, Ana Gómez. On Friday, 24 November, at 1 p.m. in the Cloister of La Nave Cultural Centre, the institutional manifesto will be read by Rector Mavi Mestre.
