At the University of Valencia you can find a set of spaces where you can learn about fair trade and responsible consumption, as well as access these consumption options. All of them form part of an ecosystem from which we cultivate critical thinking and consumption options that respect human rights and nature.
La Tenda
La Tenda of the University has been developing corporate products from fair trade for more than a decade and has an entire section dedicated to fair trade for more sustainable consumption.
In it you can find an extensive catalogue of products, advice, initiatives, and information about labels and certifications.
La Tenda can be found online and on the campuses of Burjassot, Blasco Ibáñez, Tarongers, and at the Cultural Centre La Nau.

The University has a series of values that distinguish it and make it unique. Making these values visible and perceptible in its corporate image is an important presentation card to the outside world.
The University of Valencia launched “La Tenda de la Universitat” in 2003 as an instrument to internalize and project the University’s corporate image. Since then, it has provided products and services to the university community and society, applying and guiding the correct use of the corporate identity manual, while incorporating the values expressed in the University’s statutes.
A careful selection of suppliers and products has been achieved, consolidating a significant offer of sustainable consumption products associated with the University’s corporate image:
-
Textiles and food from fair trade projects, organic farming, or local production
-
Stationery made with recycled materials or from sustainable sources
-
Logo printing in special employment workshops
These product lines convey ethical values that promote a collaborative attitude toward building an environmentally sustainable, fair, and supportive society.
The values incorporated in fair trade textile and food products are shared by the University. Wearing a fair trade sweatshirt or T-shirt with the University’s emblem helps transmit institutional support for a socially and environmentally just cause.

La Cistella Responsable
La Cistella Responsable is an initiative of the CEDAT foundation, supported at the UV by the Vice-Rectorate for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Living. Its main objectives include promoting a responsible consumption model that provides access to local, organic, seasonal food and integrating people with disabilities into the workforce.
En concreto, la iniciativa permite a la comunidad universitaria encargar y recibir cestas de productos ecológicos en despachos y puntos de recogida, repartidos por personas del Centro Especial de Ocupación del CEDAT.
The initiative allows the university community to order and receive baskets of organic products at offices and collection points, delivered by staff from CEDAT’s Special Employment Centre.
