UV students explore industrial reality at Omar Coatings

The Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Valencia (UVEG) continues to strengthen ties with the productive sector. In a recent external training day, a group of students visited the facilities of Omar Coatings, S.A., an experience designed to connect academic knowledge with the challenges of the real industrial environment.

From theory to large-scale process

The day began with a presentation by Rubén Gamón, a student of the faculty's Dual Mention. Gamón, who personifies the success of practical training, explained in detail the processes, products, and applications that define the company's activity, serving as a bridge between his classmates and the labor world.

During the technical tour of the resin and varnish plants, the students were able to observe first-hand the complexity involved in scaling up a chemical process: moving from laboratory grams to industrial plant tons.

An itinerary towards professionalization

This visit is not an isolated event, but part of an ambitious professional guidance program of the Faculty of Chemistry. The objective is to support young talent through various stages of specialization:

First contact: Guided visits to leading companies.

Direct experience: Curricular and extracurricular internships, and Bachelor's Thesis (TFG) in a business environment.

Advanced specialization: Dual Mention and Industrial Doctorates.

Strategic collaboration: Omar Coatings stands out as one of the pioneer companies in the implementation of the Dual Mention, which celebrates its second edition this year, consolidating itself as a historical ally in the training of new professionals.
