
International research and innovation projects in the area of food systems
The European partenariat Sustainable Future of Food Systems, known as FutureFoodS, has published its first call for proposals with the following topics:
Topic 1: The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems
Topic 2: New foods – Fostering innovations in food design, processing and supply via demand-and-supply reorientation
Topic 3: Empowering sustainable food choices – Enabling environments and dietary shifts
Various European and Turkish funding agencies participate in the partnership; in the case of Spain, the relevant one for public organisations and universities is the State Research Agency (AEI); in the case of companies, the CDTI, and, in addition, two regional organizations of the Basque Country and Asturias (ELIKA and SEKUENS/FICYT).

Conditions of participation of national organizations
The minimum requirements for the project consortium are to be composed of 3 partners from 3 different countries participating in the call, and who are eligible according to the general conditions and the national conditions of the applicable participating organizations. There is no maximum number of partners, between 4 and 8 are recommended.
An information webinar will be held on November 21, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CET.
The deadline for online submission of preproposals is January 15, 2025, and for complete proposals, July 9, 2025.
