The final call for the 2021–2027 period of the INTERREG NEXT MED programme is dedicated to capitalisation projects within the sustainable tourism sector in the Mediterranean, through the transfer and adaptation of Interreg project results to new territories and contexts across the region. With a budget of €8.2 million in EU funding, the call is part of the Mediterranean Multi-programme Mechanism (MMM), a major coordination initiative bringing together 10 Interreg programmes.

Social dimension of tourism (employment and upskilling) and inclusive and accessible tourism
3.1. Equal access to inclusive and quality services in education, training and lifelong learning through developing accessible infrastructure, including by fostering resilience for distance and on-line education and training
Priority 4. A better cooperation governance for the Mediterranean (Interreg Specific Objective)
Shared and strategic governance of the tourism offer
4.1. Other governance actions: Fostering local governance models and processes through cross-sectoral, multilevel and cross-border partnerships, encouraging cooperation and dialogue between citizens, civil society actors and institutions in view of addressing issues of joint interest at local level through transnational exchanges, bottom-up and participatory approaches.
