Favourable reception of the new model of the Forum of Employment and Entrepreneurship

The last editions of the Forum of Employment and Entrepreneurship on 25th October at the Faculty of Geography and History and on 5th November at n the Faculty of Pharmacy have changed their format. The event is now more dynamic, opened and relaxed. It has also been specially created for each Faculty of the University.


The event at the Faculty of Geography and History has been sponsored by the City Council of Valencia, the Valencian Service of Employment and Training (SERVEF) and Turiart. In addition, several companies, entities and institutions were present at the event such as Bombas Gens, Bécue - Asociación de Becarios y ex Becarios españoles en los Instituciones de la Unión Europea, Chair for Business Culture, Colegio Oficial de Bibliotecarios y Documentalistas de la Comunidad Valenciana, Culturama,  Esfera Projectes Culturals, Europe Direct (Valencian Government), Exdukere Activitats Culturals, Geoinnova, IVACE, Job Trust, UV International Relations Service and  Fundació Universitat Empresa de la UV-ADEIT.

Those 10 participant entities have appreciated very positively the event in the quality questionnaire.  The participants valued the organisation of the event with 7.8/10, the attendance of students and graduates to the information desks with 6.4/10, the attendance to the talks of the forum with 6.4/10, the facilities with 8.3 and the assistance of OPAL with 9/10. Regarding the usefulness of the Forum, the average score was 4.2/5. In terms of satisfaction, it was marked 4.3/5.

The entities have pointed out what were their goals to join the forum: support the employability of students and graduates, establishing and improving relationships with the university and other entities, creating new job and education opportunities and informing to the attendees about the programmes they manage. All of them have highlighted that the objectives that encouraged them to attend the event were fulfilled and that they would repeat their involvement.

The forum organised at the Faculty of Pharmacy was sponsored by the City Council of Valencia, the Muy Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Farmacéuticos de Valencia (MICOF), laboratorios Babé and Esmalglass-Itaca Grupo. Other participants were Dulcesol, Instituto Tecnológico del Plástico (AIMPLAS), the Chair for Business Culture, Cofares, ADEIT- Fundación Universidad Empresa de la UV, Eduvap, Europe Direct, Ginemed, Grefusa, Ortoval, the Scientific Park of the Universitat de València, Torrecid, Valgenetics and the Asociación de Estudiantes de Ciencias Gastronómicas de la Universitat (ACIGA).

Those 13 entities that participated in the event have assessed the forum in the quality questionnaire. They have market the organisation of the event with 8.3/10. The attendance of students and graduates to the information desks with 7.5/10, the attendance to the talks of the forum with 9/10 and the assistance of OPAL staff with 9/10. Regarding the usefulness and satisfaction of the Forum, they marked both aspects with 3.9/5.

The entities highlighted that what encouraged them to attend to the event, among other reasons, was to provide information about the job vacancies and the company itself, assess the students for future hiring, recruit talent and raise the visibility of the brand. 75% of the entities pointed out that the objectives that encouraged them to attend to the event were fulfilled, and 92% of the companies would return to the event.

Regarding the assessment of the students and graduates, the organisation has been marked with 3.57/4, the average of all talks with 3.5/4 and the global score of the forum with 3.1/4.


UV empleo-OPAL is satisfied with the reception of this new format. As a result, they are working in agreement with this model to organise future fora that will take place during 2019. They are expected to take place on 5th March at the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication, on 3rd April at the Faculty of Law and on 9th May at ETSE. We expect to see you there!
