Description of research activity:
This group frames its research within the lines developed in the Department of Comparative Education and History of Education: history, politics and comparative education. The group's research activity is particularly confined to the existing Comparative Education Centre (CECUV) of the University of Valencia, recognised by the Spanish Society of Comparative Education, a member of the WCCES, and also recognised by the Board of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences. Since the creation of the CECUV, different dissemination and scientific interest activities have been promoted (conferences, congresses, seminars, conferences) as well as attention to research through its members' various scientific publications (articles, book chapters, etc.). The CECUV has a group of teachers and researchers (University Teacher Training [FPU] of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training) made up of 14 people who, for the most part, have been working collaboratively over the last ten years. Among the activities promoted by the CECUV, seminars led by different specialists of recognised prestige in the field of comparative education, both at international and national level, stand out...This group frames its research within the lines developed in the Department of Comparative Education and History of Education: history, politics and comparative education. They mark both the times and the content of the reforms and, in addition, support the funding of a significant number of them.
  • Global movement for education reform, neoliberalism and privatization of public education.Economic globalisation and the crisis of the Keynesian model of the welfare state and the increase in oil prices since the 1970s have transformed the global economic, philosophical and political paradigm within which liberalisation policies in the public sector lie.
  • Epistemology of comparative education. The complexity of comparative education is part of its existence. There are as many comparative educations as there are contexts, that is, there are various forms, ways and approaches from which comparative education is carried out and which, in turn, are being or have been called into question.
  • Right to early childhood education.Study of the study of the situation of early childhood education from a rights perspective.
  • Education for global citizenship. The 21st-century world presents broad asymmetries between wealth and poverty, security and conflict, environmental progress and deterioration and, in general, presents an international context characterised by economic, social and territorial inequality.
