National Phase:

This year marks the first edition of the National Phase of the Linguistic Olympiad, and the University of Valencia and the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication will host the participating students from all over Spain.

Participants: Students who have won their Local Phases.

Dates: April 17 and 18, 2026, at the University of Valencia.

This National Phase will select the four students who will make up the national team and represent Spain at the International Linguistic Olympiad (https://ioling.org/index.html).


National Round Results

This year saw the first edition of the National Round of the Linguistics Olympiad, in which students who had won awards in the local rounds organised by the University of Valencia and the University of Zaragoza took part. It is planned that other universities will gradually join in future editions.

The test for this national phase took place on Saturday 18 April, from 10:00 to 13:00, at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication at the University of Valencia.

The four winning students will form the national team representing Spain at the International Linguistic Olympiad, to be held in Romania from 26 July to 2 August.

International Phase:

The International Linguistic Olympiad (https://ioling.org/index.html) will be held this year in Bucharest, Romania (https://iol2026.ioling.org/), from July 26 to August 2.

During this week, students will not only take linguistic tests, both individually and in national teams, but will also participate in various activities alongside students from more than forty countries, in an environment that fosters coexistence and cultural exchange.
