Objectives
To encourage students' interest in this science, which is closely linked to the territory and which helps us to know and understand the world in which we live, both the natural environment and the human activities that take place in it.
Participants
All students enrolled in the second year of high school who are taking the Geography subject in any public, subsidized or private school in the Valencian Community may participate in the XVIII Geography Olympiad of the Valencian Community. Participation is on an individual basis. The maximum number of participants is four per school.
Contents
It will assess the degree of general geographic knowledge (physical and human) of the Spanish and Valencian territory, as well as the contents of the syllabus of the Geography syllabus of the baccalaureate that appears in Decree 108/2022 of 5 August 2022.
Calendar
The test will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Valencia (Av. Blasco Ibáñez, 28 in Valencia).
Test type
The test will consist of 50 multiple-choice multiple-choice questions, which may include graphs, photographs and maps. Each question will have four options, only one of which is correct. Each error is worth 0.33 points (one third of the correct answer). Unanswered questions will not be taken into account. The test will last approximately one hour.
