The Plenary of the RAE has awarded the Royal Spanish Academy Award for philological research, in its eighteenth edition, to the work of Isabel Burdiel Emilia Pardo Bazán (Madrid, Taurus-Fundación Juan March, 2019)

Isabel Burdiel is a professor of Contemporary History at the University of Valencia, and a user of the Biblioteca d’Humanitats and the interlibrary loan service. This service of our library obtains the documents published anywhere in the world, which the University of Valencia does not have, and which are necessary in the research carried out by our users.

Isabel Burdiel has used our service both when writing this book and in previous studies, dedicated to the historiography of women and research on the construction of identity, highlighting her work dedicated to Isabel II of Spain, which received in 2011 the National History Award.

The jury highlighted that the book on Emilia Pardo Bazán "is a rigorous biographical study, with a broad critical apparatus, which analyzes the author's life and literary career, placing it in the historical context of her time." The work can be consulted in the libraries of the University of Valencia.
