With regard to indicators of his research career, Dr. Javier Vijande has achieved the maximum number of research merits possible in his field (three). He has supervised six doctoral theses, all of them awarded the distinction of Excellent cum laude. According to the Scopus database, he is the author of 183 publications, most of them in Q1 and Q2 journals, which have accumulated a total of 3,489 citations, with an h-index of 31. Concerning participation in scientific forums, he has been a regular contributor at both national and international conferences, averaging at least one or two international conferences per year, several of them as an invited plenary speaker. His activity is further complemented by numerous research stays at prestigious international institutions and by active collaborations with groups from various organizations. At present, Dr. Vijande leads a research line focused on medical physics, specifically radiotherapy. He is the head of the Medical Physics Group at the University of Valencia (https://go.uv.es/javia/GIUV-IRIMED), specialized in the application of Monte Carlo simulations to radiotherapy systems, both internal (brachytherapy) and external (teletherapy), with the aim of conducting dosimetric studies in clinical scenarios. Beyond his scientific contributions, this research line has also fostered collaborations with leading companies in the field, resulting in prototypes that are currently commercialized (go.uv.es/javia/Elekta, www.esteya.com, go.uv.es/javia/Inserto, among others). His international profile is reflected in his active participation in regulatory bodies and major professional societies, particularly the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). Within the AAPM, he chaired the Working Group on Model-Based Dose Calculation Algorithms in Brachytherapy (2017-2023), of which he remains a member, alongside the Brachytherapy Subcommittee and the Brachytherapy Source Registry Working Group. Since 2024, he has chaired the Working Group on Brachytherapy Dosimetry. These groups are tasked with developing test cases to validate new dose-calculation algorithms in clinical practice, reviewing brachytherapy seeds submitted for inclusion in the AAPM Source Registry (a prerequisite for hospital use), and, more broadly, coordinating clinical practice in brachytherapy within the North American and European contexts. Within ESTRO, Dr. Vijande is a member of the BRAchytherapy PHYsics Quality Assurance System (BRAPHYQS) working group, where he contributes to the development of European recommendations for calibration, traceability, and clinical use of brachytherapy sources, and serves as a representative in the ESTRO Physics Guidelines Sub-Group. In addition, he has been appointed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as an expert to collaborate in the program of the Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (IPEN-CNEN/SP, São Paulo) entitled Ensuring High-Quality Production of Brachytherapy Sources for Cancer Treatment. |

Carlos Bartual's research focuses on the design, synthesis, and micro-/nano-structuring of advanced materials for technological applications in energy storage, memory devices, and chemical sensors. He has developed a new family of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with multifunctional properties, such as magnetism, porosity, and fluorescence, which have significant potential for ultrasensitive chemical sensors. One of his most notable works includes the synthesis of the MOF {Fe(bpac)[M(CN)4]}, which changes its spin state upon moisture absorption, making it an effective humidity sensor at room temperature. Carlos obtained his degree in Chemistry from the University of Valencia in 2007 and defended his doctoral thesis in 2010 through a cotutelle program between the University of Toulouse (LCC-CNRS) and the University of Valencia (ICMol). Following his doctorate, he conducted his first postdoctoral research at CNRS in Toulouse and Montpellier (France) from 2011 to 2014, where he collaborated with Innopsys company on a microarray scanner for pollutant detection and contributed to the INNODIAG project for early breast cancer detection. He then worked at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) from 2014, at the University of Barcelona from January 2015 to July 2016, and subsequently at the University of Valencia from September 2016, where he joined the SMOLMAT group as a Senior Researcher. Carlos has developed high-quality MOF thin films, facilitating their integration into real devices and paving the way for industrial applications. His recent work focuses on smart materials with properties such as chirality, conductivity, and fluorescence, achieving significant results in materials chemistry. He has published 46 high-impact research articles, of which 39 are in top-tier Q1 journals. He has served as corresponding author on 19 of these publications and has actively participated in major international conferences. Throughout his career, Carlos has co-supervised several PhD students and has taught over 450 hours of theoretical and practical chemistry courses at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Valencia. Since December 2023, he has served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the same institution. |

Juan de Dios Zornoza Gómez, graduated from the University of Valencia in 1999 and earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Valencia in 2005. Associate Professor in the Department of Atomic, Molecular, and Nuclear Physics at UV and accredited as Full Professor by ANECA. Principal Investigator of the VEGA group, dedicated to neutrino astronomy with the KM3NeT detector. He has been a Marie Curie fellow at the University of Madison-Wisconsin (USA), working on the AMANDA and IceCube experiments. He has held various responsibilities as a coordinator of working groups and in committees within ANTARES and KM3NeT. Miriam Beneito Cambra has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Valencia (UV) since 2023. She obtained her PhD in Chemistry from the UV in 2011, including a stay at the University of Vienna (Austria). Her doctoral thesis received the highest grade (“Excelente Cum Laude”) and the Extraordinary Doctorate Award (UV, 2013). She completed postdoctoral stays at the University of Jaén and the “École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de la Ville de Paris” (Paris, France). Her research career is characterized by an evolution from the initial development of separation and characterization methodologies in chromatography and capillary electrophoresis to the consolidation of advanced approaches based on LC-MS/HRMS, with special emphasis on the optimization of ambient and plasma ionization sources (DBDI, LTP) and nanoflow strategies (nLC). Her research is primarily focused on the multi-residue analysis of pesticides, drugs, and other compounds of interest in complex matrices, especially food and vegetable oils. |

Antonio Díez began his research activity in 1995, when he joined the Laboratory of Fiber Optics, at the University of Valencia (LFO-UV), Spain. He received his PhD in physics in 1998 from the University of Valencia. During his PhD, he complemented his training with two stays at the Optoelectronic Research Centre, U.K. In 1999, he joined the Optoelectronics Research Group at the University of Bath, U.K., for nearly two years as a post-doctoral researcher. In 2001, he joined the University of Valencia, where he served successively as Assistant Professor and Lecturer. Currently, he is Full Professor at the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Valencia, Spain. As a member of LFO-UV, he has actively contributed to the implementation of several new research lines. Díez has participated in more than 40 research projects granted in competitive calls from different public administrations, and in more than 20 research/transfer projects with different companies and technological institutions. A. Díez is cofounder of the company FYLA Laser S. L., created in 2006 as a “spin-off” company of the University of Valencia. His teaching activities include undergraduate and master subjects, as well as doctoral studies. He has taught subjects in Physics degree, Electrical Engineering, Master in Advanced Physics, and Doctorate in Physics. In all of them, the contents of the subjects are related to electromagnetism, electromagnetic waves, and photonics. He has been supervisor/co-supervisor of 9 PhD theses and several master's theses. |

Amparo Sanz Marco received the BSc degree in Chemistry in 2009, and MSc in Organic Chemistry in 2011, both from the University of València. Dr. Sanz-Marco obtained her PhD degree in June 2015, deserving an "Excellent cum Laude" mention. During the PhD period, she also carried out a 4 month stay with the group of Prof. J. P. Morken at Boston College (USA), working on stereoselective diboration of alkenes. In August 2015, she moved to Stockholm University (Sweden) to carry out a post-doctoral research stay in the group of Prof. B. Martín-Matute for 4 years. Her research focused on isomerization of allylic alcohols, C-H activation, metal-organic frameworks, CO2 activation and electrochemistry. Since February 2020, she is working at the University of Valencia as “Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación” researcher. |

Salvador Cardona (Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry) completed his doctorate at the University of Valencia based on the theoretical-experimental study of molecular magnets based on polyoxometalates. After completing his PhD, he obtained a postdoctoral fellowship with the medium-term goal of developing new materials for molecular spintronic applications under the supervision of prof. S. Sanvito at Trinity College Dublin (TCD). His reintegration into the UV was carried out within an ERC-CoG (DECRESIM) team for 13 months, until he obtained one of the three competitive 'Talent Attraction' scholarships from the Campus of International Excellence and a 'Juan de la Cierva' from MINECO. In 2023 he was selected for a prestigious Ramon y Cajal contract, and is currently stabilized through a teaching contract as Assistant Professor Doctor in the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Universitat de València. Salvador Cardona-Serra has been co-author of more than 40 Q1 publications in Chemistry, Physics and Materials Science, being the first author in several of them. His work has received more than 2,200 citations, and has an h-index of 23. |
