Born in Valencia (1957). Full Professor of State Canon Law of the Department of Roman Law and State Canon Law of the Faculty of Law.
Graduate in Law and PhD in Law from the Universitat de València. Extraordinary award winner of her Undergraduate Degree and for the PhD thesis. Graduate in Canon Law by the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca. She has six five-year terms of certified teaching activity.
Her research activity covers, among others, matters of women, law and religion, religion factor in autonomous communities, national and international protection of religious liberty, matrimonial law and matrimonial cases.
She published books, book chapters and numerous articles in specialized journals. She directed research projects on Family and Law. A speaker invited to many national and international congresses. She directed nine PhDs and numerous dissertations, undergraduate and master’s degree final projects. She has six six-year terms of certified research activity and one term of transfer activity.
Member of scientific committees and advisory boards of most prestigious journals in her field, as well as of several scientific associations. She is an appropriate academic of the Royal Academy of Legislation and Jurisprudence of Madrid. At the international level, she’s the former President of the Spanish Association of Canon Law Experts, as the first female to occupy that position, and the chairperson expert of recognized competence of the Advisory Committee on Religious Freedom, currently under the Ministry of the Presidency.
External consultant of the ACADEMIA programme for the National Accreditation of Professors of the ANECA and adviser of the CNEAI. External evaluator consultant of research projects of the Ministry of Education and research evaluator of AGAUR.
Former member of the Senate, of the Court of Ombuds, Committee of Emeritus, of the Advisory Board and of the Complaints Committee. Former Secretary of Faculty of Law, coordinator in the field of State Canon Law, the Director of the Department of Roman Law and State Canon Law and Dean of the Faculty of Law.
In recognition of her collaborative labour, in 2018 she received the Condecoración de oro from the Valencian Government for police merit and the Medalla Cruz con Distintivo Blanco from the National Police.
