Scientific-technical goals:
  • Estudio de los procesos de comprension en lectura digital.
  • Transferencia de los avances cientificos sobre lectura hacia el ambito educativo y editorial.

Research lines:
  • Digital reading habits at home and in class. This line aims to analyse the relationship between reading habits on digital devices and their effects on the development of reading comprehension skills in primary and secondary school students.
  • Evidence-Based Reading Practices: Meta-Analytical and Educational Database Analysis..In this line, the aim is to identify evidence-based reading practices based on meta-analytic analyses and large-scale educational databases such as PISA, PIRLS or NAEPS. These assessments provide guidance for improving teaching and learning practices.
  • Intervention programs in reading comprehension..The aim in this line of work is the development and validation of programmes to foster both traditional and digital reading competence in primary and secondary education.
  • Effect of superiority of paper..We analyse the effects of reading format (paper or digital) on reading comprehension, based on studies in education facilities, complemented by cognitive neuroscience methodologies, such as eye movement recording and electroencephalogram (EEG) recording techniques.
