The events on November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, at the University of Valencia focus on the #blockalmasclisme campaign, promoted by the Unitat d’Igualtat.

In addition, in the UV libraries, a series of actions will be carried out throughout the week aimed at visualizing and making students aware of the importance of this day. The authors of the project, entitled "Weight of Thought", are the professors Maria Vidagañ, associate professor of the Department of Musical, Plastic and Corporal Expression of the University of Zaragoza, and Amparo Alonso-Sanz, professor contracted doctor in the Department of Didactics of the Musical, Plastic and Corporal Expression of the University of Valencia.

In the project, the books on the different shelves  will be re-classified using a new criteria, based on the sex of the person writing the book. The result of this classification can be seen, in a very graphic way, in the photographs that will be published on the @bibliotequesuv social networks. The purpose is to make visible the vast overwhelming majority of books in libraries written by male authors as opposed to those written by female authors, with all the implications that this implies for the construction of collective thought.

The first library visited was the Campus d'Ontinyent Library. We encourage you to visit and learn about the project in your library according to the following calendar:

November 26: Historical Library, Historic Medical Library, Botanical Garden Library, "Eduard Boscà" Science Library.

November 27: "Joan Reglá" Humanities Library, "Pelegrí Casanova" Health Sciences Library, "Joan Lluis Vives" Psychology and Sports Library, "Gregori Maians" Social Sciences Library, "María Education Library Moliner ".
