The Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication has awarded a dozen prizes to students who participated in the four categories of the “Trau la llengua” competition, which in the 2020-2021 edition received 45 entries from ten secondary schools in Valencia. The award ceremony took place online and was presided over by the Vice-Rector for Employment and Training Programmes at the University of Valencia, Adela Valero Aleixandre, accompanied by the Rector's Delegate for UV Students, Maria José Lorente Carchano, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, Amparo Ricós Vidal, and the Vice-Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Sergio Maruenda Bataller. The ceremony was also attended by the students and teachers who participated in the sixth edition of the competition, as well as the awards jury.

First prize in the digital story competition went to the team made up of Clàudia Parra Mondéjar, Clara Rovira Cutanda, Sandra Roig Pérez and Paula Vicent Cháfer (IES Rei en Jaume, Prof. Sara Valle), with their work “Snow what?”. Second prize went to the story “La chica de rojo” (The Girl in Red), written by Carla Briz Vivar, Jorge Castera Bueno and Abdessalam Essoufi (IES Rei en Jaume, Prof. Sara Valle), while third place went to Noa Cejalvo López, Isabel Collado Calzada, Ainoa Villora and Aitana Martínez Albalat (San Antonio de Padua II, Prof. Javier Palenciano Jiménez) for “Les tres amigues a casa d'Isabel”.

In the micro-story category, the winning entries were: ‘L’última pàgina’ (The Last Page) by Marta Solaz Paredes (San Antonio de Padua II, Prof. Javier Palenciano Jiménez), which took first place; ‘Regardez par la fenêtre et agissez!’ (Look Out the Window and Take Action!) by Nieves Solera Guerrero (Centre Educatiu Gençana, Prof. Beatriz Sánchez García), which took second place; and “Benvolguda filla” by Immaculada Ortega Blanch (Col·legi Jesús i Maria, Prof. Raúl Gisbert) and “Hambre cero” by Candela Mollá Ramón (San Antonio de Padua II, Prof. Javier Palenciano Jiménez), tied for third place.

The awards for the micropoem category went to Elena García García (San Vicente Ferrer Padres Dominicos, Prof. Ivania Serrano Ríos), first prize for “I'm tired”; Ainara Tarrasó (Reial Escola Pia de Gandia, Prof. Karina Mestre Pedro), second prize for “Tu, jo i nosaltres”; and Diego Argaya Giménez (Col·legi Pius XII València, Prof. Vicent Juan Martínez), for “Al final...”.

In the comic section, the first prize went to Candela Mollá Ramón (San Antonio de Padua II, Prof. Javier Palenciano), while the second prize went to Gemma Andrea Ferrer Bravo, and the third prize went to Alba Avellaneda Sáez, both from La Devesa School (Prof. Raquel Ibáñez Oltra).
