From May 4 to 8, the International Staff Week, organized by the support of UVinternacional, will focus on exploring how artificial intelligence can be integrated into library services while maintaining a human-centred approach. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, learn about ongoing projects, and discuss the challenges and opportunities brought by emerging technologies in the library field.
Throughout the week, we will introduce the Libraries and Documentation Service of the Universitat de València through visits to several of our libraries, including the Social Sciences Library and the Humanities Library. The sessions will address topics such as research support services and information literacy and training. In addition, we will visit the library of the Botanical Garden of Valencia, a unique place where we will further explore the intersection between AI and sustainability.
As part of the programme, we will also visit the Historical Library, which houses an exceptional collection of manuscripts, incunabula, rare books, and documents dating from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
The programme combines practical workshops, presentations by library professionals, guided tours, and cultural activities that showcase both our academic environment and the city of Valencia. Together, we will reflect on how libraries can innovate responsibly, ensuring that technology continues to serve people and knowledge.
