The libraries of the Universitat de València have prepared a guide to help the researcher to calculate the Normalized Impact (IN) of scientific production. The IN is an indicator of the impact of the publications of each researcher.

There are calls for grants and subsidies that, according to their requirements, require the researcher to accredit an IN of scientific production equal to or greater than a certain figure with respect to the world median value, in the period of the corresponding call.

The IN is calculated according to the citations received in comparison with the median number of citations of the world scientific production in the same period and subject area. For its calculation you have to use one of the two large international databases, Web of Science or SCOPUS.
