Exhibition: "Sacred Spaces. The Rediscovery of Mayan Cities in the 19th Century: Teobert Maler in the Yucatán Peninsula"

The exhibition features a selection of photographs by the Austrian-German architect and photographer Teobert Maler, who documented ancient Mayan cities during the 19th century. The show highlights panoramas, architecture, and sculptures from the Yucatán and Campeche regions, revealing the grandeur and cultural richness of the Mayan civilizations.

Maler’s images not only showcase the impressive pre-Hispanic architecture, but also capture the presence of today’s Mayan descendants, reflecting the continuity of their traditions and cultural heritage.
