On Wednesday, January 15, the study day “LIBRORVM FRAGMENTA. RECYCLED BOOKS IN THE HISTORICAL LIBRARY”, which was postponed due to the DANA. The conference, organized by the Historical Library, aims to give visibility to the study of fragments of manuscripts and incunabula that are preserved because they were reused to make the covers or the reinforcements of the bindings of other books. Their study reveals an unknown part of the magnificent bibliographic and documentary heritage kept in libraries and archives.
At the beginning of 2024 an exhibition was held, curated by Professor Francisco M. Gimeno Blay, whose catalog received the prize for the best edition awarded by the Xarxa Vives de Universidades.
The event will be held from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm in the Aula Magna of the Universitat de València, in the cultural center La Nau, Calle de la Universitat, 2. 46003 València.
It will be a free activity open to the public and a certificate of attendance will be provided.
