The Universitat de València web portals have predefined spaces such as the news block, the main menu or links to places of interest. However, there are elements that make the website versatile, and among these is the blog, where all the personal views on the subject matter of each portal can be found, and which, as a rule, are excluded from those sections that are strictly informative.

In the blog, all those people linked to each centre, department, institute, master's degree, degree, chair or any other body or service that has a UV web portal, have the opportunity to contribute with their personal views on the specific topic of each website, always under the supervision of the editor in charge. There is also room for all kinds of scientific collaborations and opinion articles that would not find room in any other space on the website.
Having this element on the website is a decision of the person in charge of each portal, who can ask the Web and Marketing Unit to create it through the publisher support service. Once the new blog component has been incorporated, the portal's editors/owners will have the option of generating a new element that is presented under the name 'GasetaRecerca'.
Its structure is very similar as in the News, with a first box of text called 'Abstract' (which corresponds to a summary of the article), and a second box called 'Content', where the body of the remaining text has to go. The cover image must be the same size as the news items, i.e. preferably 540x378 pixels and between 50 and 100 KB in size. As with the new releases, images can be added inside the text as long as they have first been uploaded to a disk space to generate the corresponding url, and using the toolbar you can create links to external websites, videos, email accounts, etc. Also as with the new features, this element 'GasetaRecerca' will be published automatically without the need to drag it to any component.
On the front page of the website it will be reproduced as a separate space with a grey frame that can optionally reproduce three or six entries, depending on the pace of publication, with a link that leads to the previous entries.
It is a very useful option to provide a space for personal contributions always around the specific theme of each website.
