The Sports Service of the Universitat de València (UVsports) offers to the university community and the general public a wide range of sporting activities, with a variety of modalities, schedules and facilities. This makes up a dense programme that has to be transferred to the service's web portal in such a way that it is easy for users to identify the sporting discipline they wish to practise and the availability of times and facilities.

The solution was a component with the template 'LlistatEsportsHome' that reproduces on the homepage of UVsports all a list of logos identifying each sport. Clicking on the desired logo, links to an interior page with all the information about the chosen discipline: activities per quadrimester, summer activities, prices, photo galleries and videos, groups, locations, teachers, access to the sports card, and other observations.
This section of the Sports Service website is a dynamic section that is constantly changing to incorporate new sports modalities and new timetables according to demand. For this reason, the editors of this web portal had to have a tool that would facilitate the dissemination of the sporting offer of the UV. The key to this task is the 'Esport' element, which reproduces a form with the logo of the sport and all the information about activities, schedules, prices and places. Once an 'Esport' element has been generated for a specific modality, its information fields can be modified as much as necessary by locating the element to be modified with the manager's search engine.
To be considered
One of the aspects that the editors and publishers of this web portal must always bear in mind is that the creation of a new 'Esport' element for the incorporation of a new sport modality into the offer must always be accompanied by a new complementary and essential web structure for the reproduction on the front page of the link to the new sport, as can be seen in the image on the right. When generating a new sport, it is essential to create a page on which we will incorporate the literal with the name of the corresponding sport in three languages, an interior spot specific to the sport, the column 'COL Esports' which is unique and the same for each of the pages, and finally the element 'Esport' that we have just generated. Once the page has been completed, it will be moved from No Col-locations to the alphabetical order inside the Sports page.
If we generate a new 'Esport' element and do not create its corresponding page, the component will reproduce the new sport on any other page and generate an incorrect URL that will end up misconfiguring the whole structure. For this reason, it is important that each new 'Esport' element is accompanied by its own web structure.
