#DesembreEuropeu2025 includes every year a literary activity, which on this occasion focuses on the novel that won the 2024 Spanish National Narrative Prize
Within the framework of European December 2025, which celebrates its XI edition from 1 to 20 December with the slogan 'Memory and Future of Europe. 40 years of Spain in the EU', the bookshop La Batisfera in Valencia is hosting a literary event with the writer, winner of the 2024 Spanish National Narrative Prize, Raúl Quinto, on Saturday, 13 December at 12.30pm.
The author will talk with a bookseller, Santiago Lemoine, and the librarian Lola Miñarro, about his novel ‘Martinete del rey sombra’. Admission is free and there is limited capacity.
Raúl Quinto has a degree in Art History from the Universidad de Granada and currently, he lives in Almería, where he works as a professor. He was one of the coordinators of the José Ángel Valente Faculty of Poetry and has contributed as a critic to publications such as Quimera.
His narrative works include ‘La canción de NOF4’, for which he received the Alfonso X Prize for Literature; 'Martinete del rey sombra', acclaimed by critics and winner of the 2024 Spanish National Narrative Prize, the 2023 Critics' Prize and the 2023 Cálamo Prize; and, more recently, ‘La ballena azul’, described by Mariana Enríquez as ‘a compendium of the dark mythology of the Internet’.
