Valencian artist Inma Coll.
The Seven Veils of Inma Coll
Face-to-face

The exhibition of this feminist artist arrives to Gandía and will be open for visiting between 9 July and 30 August in commemoration of the 42nd UEG

The Sala Tossal of the Universitat de València in Gandia will be holding this summer the exhibition “The Seven Veils of Inma Coll”, an artistic and vital proposal of great expressive intensity reflecting about ageism and the ways used to make the mature women invisible in the contemporary society.

Through paintings, textile art, installations and video-art, Valencian artist Inma Coll, one of the most genuine voices of the current Spanish expressionism, strips symbolically from seven veils that hide marginal realities such as midorexia, the stigma of aging, the productivity crisis or the silence about mental health.

Chosen in the 3rd Edition of the Activa Cultura Programme of the Universitat de València and curated by Alejandro Villar, this exhibition is too a recognition of the museum as a space for thinking and transformation. In Gandía, “The Seven Veils” continues its journey after having been seen for the first time at La Nau Cultural Centre in València on October 2024, becoming the stage for resistance and revelation.
