Financial support for teaching and research activities

Aquí tienes una traducción con un tono administrativo y académico preciso, adaptada a la terminología estándar de la Universitat de València:

The financial aid aims to offset needs arising from a disability by funding resources that facilitate teaching and research activities. Grants may be awarded for:

  • The loan of specific assistive products, for the duration of the employment relationship with the UV, to facilitate teaching and research activities. Personal-use assistive products or those aimed at fostering personal autonomy—the provision of which corresponds to other competent official bodies—are excluded.
  • The hiring of support personnel when the disability certificate decision includes reduced mobility requiring third-party assistance, and this need is not covered by other calls for applications or public bodies.

The financial aid will be awarded through annual calls for applications, generally published each semester. Each call will establish the requirements, required documentation, and deadline for submitting applications.

Documentation

  • Duly completed application form.
  • Valid disability certificate or official document proving a legally equivalent status.
  • Specialist report confirming the suitability of the requested aid. It is recommended that this report be issued by UVdiscapacitat or by the competent UV department.
  • Psychological report, if applicable.
  • Activity report for which the corresponding aid is requested.
  • Description of the requested assistive product detailing its features, and/or the profile of the requested support person. Seeking advice from UVdiscapacitat is recommended.
  • Budget for the requested aid.

Applications will be evaluated by the Evaluation Commission for Integration Measures for PDI (Teaching and Research Staff) with Disabilities. Once resolved, the assistive product will be handed over to the beneficiary through a loan agreement.

Obligations of the beneficiaries

Beneficiaries must comply with the conditions set out in the governing call for applications. In particular:

  • Return the assistive product to UVdiscapacitat upon termination of the employment relationship with the UV or when the circumstances that justified its award no longer apply.
  • Notify UVdiscapacitat during the month of September of each academic year of the need to extend the loan of the assistive product or, if applicable, any incidents affecting its operation. To do so, an email can be sent to pdipasdiscapacidad@uv.es.

Teaching support measures

In order to guarantee the proper performance of teaching activities by PDI (Teaching and Research Staff) with disabilities, and in accordance with the possibilities within the academic and teaching organization of the UV, the following support measures, among others, may be adopted:

a) Assigning teaching to accessible classrooms and/or avoiding teaching assignments across different campuses, provided that a physical disability is duly certified.

b) Assigning teaching duties compatible with the disability.

c) Reducing the teaching workload.

The purpose of this support is to facilitate the development of teaching and research activities, without involving any financial compensation or impact.

Application Deadlines

  • Applications submitted between January 1 and April 30 will be resolved for the following academic year.
  • Applications submitted between May 1 and September 30 will be resolved for the second semester of the current academic year.

Documentation

  • Duly completed application form.
  • Valid disability certificate or official document proving a legally equivalent status.
  • A responsible declaration stating that no other teaching activity is performed outside that which is inherent to the workload regime at the UV.

Applications will be evaluated by the Evaluation Commission for Integration Measures for PDI with Disabilities, which will issue the corresponding report. The final decision will correspond to the Vice-Rectorate responsible for teaching staff matters.

Obligations of the Beneficiaries

PDI applying for this support for the first time, or whose health situation has changed, must attend an individual interview with members of the Evaluation Commission to assess their situation, guaranteeing total confidentiality of the information.

The reduction will be granted for the requested period (academic year or semester) and must be renewed annually through a new application and a responsible declaration of engaging in no external teaching activity.

If a change in health status, disability degree recognition, or other relevant circumstances occurs, a review of the granted reduction may be requested by submitting the corresponding supporting documentation.
