The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.
The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research and Scientific Policies. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Data related to research groups featured in various information dissemination channels shall not, under any circumstances, imply a statement or commitment regarding the employment or academic affiliation of individuals associated with the Universitat de València. Their inclusion is solely the responsibility of the group directors. Updates will be made upon request from interested parties.

Description of research activity: The group researches on
Text comprehension and learning processes
Understanding and searching for information in electronic environments
Assessment of reading and comprehension
Individual differences in text learning and comprehension
Comprehension and learning with multiple texts
Intervention for the improvement of text comprehension and learning The Psicotext Group is part of the Interdisciplinary Research Structure for Reading of the Universitat de València (www.uv.es/lectura/). It has an extensive research career that began in 1998 and has been consolidated with numerous national research projects, with the Prometeo project of excellence of the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), as well as numerous international contacts. Our research focuses on the study of comprehension and learning through texts. Electronic tools have been developed that allow us to study comprehensions processes in detail in reading environments oriented to complex learning tasks that require accessing and searching for information in documents. We study basic aspects such as the processes of information seeking, text comprehension and learning, individual differences or the effect of various types of feedback on these processes. We also do applied research by developing reading literacy assessment products for students at various educational levels and intelligent tutors to improve the reading literacy of schoolchildren (see products at www.uv.es/lectura/).[Read more][Hide]

Scientific-technical goals: - Study the variables and processes involved in text processing and learning. These include textual variables (e.g., linguistic cohesion), individual variables (e.g., reading comprehension and prior knowledge), and contextual variables (e.g., task difficulty, question format).
- Analyze the effect of different aspects of feedback on text learning, such as the type of feedback, frequency, or modality.
- Develop educational products for the assessment and teaching of reading comprehension skills.
Research lines: - Learning processes and text comprehension. This line studies the comprehension and learning processes of students when they study texts. It also analyses the personal and situational variables that favour and/or hinder this learning. It also studies methods and tasks for assessing learning and comprehension in complex reading environments from the end of Primary Education to the University.
- Educational technology for reading and learning environments. In this line, technological products for research, assessment and teaching in text-based learning environments (standardised texts, intelligent tutors and research tools) are developed. The conditions of the task environment, such as question format or task interface, that influence learning are also investigated.
