This virtual exhibition approaches sources from the turn of the century, 19th-20th, through a double work of research and hermeneutics, and approaches some questions raised by witnesses about some artists and their critical fortune.

Born from the collective work in the classrooms of the subject Sources of Art History, led by Professor Raquel Baixauli Romero, within the Degree in Art History of the University of Valencia, the students have developed nine views or perspectives on topics linked to the situation of artists of the time. The result presents a panorama that allows for comparisons and access to different past and present realities.

From the presentation in society of artists such as Inocencia Arangoa or Ángeles Santos, through the construction of femininity, gender discourses or social issues, to the materialization of syndromes such as that of the impostor, all the readings come together in the construction of an imagined and imaginary being, which allows linking women with the history of representations.
