Once again, the Library is participating in the IV Conference on Education, Teaching and Innovation through Comics (JEDI) which will be held next Tuesday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
The event, framed within the field of teaching innovation, is organized by Professor Carlos Romá and Professor Gloria Olaso, from the Department of Physiology at the UV and coordinators of the Consolidated Group on Teaching Innovation in Narrative Physiology.
This year, under the motto Brain, mind and memory: from the neurophysiology of memories to the creation of identities through comics, the conference focuses on the capacity of comics as a means for the transmission and construction of identities, and on their potential to communicate health or social awareness issues.
The transversality of these stories will be captured through the explanation and subsequent screening of the short film El cuerpo de Cristo (adaptation of the work by Bea Lema, winner of the 2024 National Comic Award) by animation director Mari Carmen Cabrils. The authors Paco Roca and César Sebastián, responsible for works in which memory plays a fundamental role and which portray first-hand issues of great social relevance, will also be present.
Check out the full program.
Attendance at the conference is free of charge, but registration is requested for the purpose of controlling the management of the event
The Library will be present at the Conference with a selection of comics from its collection, which you can borrow during the Conference.
