The Biblioteca Històrica of the Universitat de València is entering the final days of the exhibition De llibres i plantes. Secrets de la il·lustració botànica (segles XVI–XIX), an invitation to explore the relationship between science, art and nature through a carefully curated selection from its heritage collections.

The exhibition brings together historical works in which botanical illustration played a key role in the study and dissemination of scientific knowledge. Antique books, engravings and plates show how, between the 16th and 19th centuries, the graphic representation of plants made it possible to advance in their observation, classification and understanding.

To mark the last days of the exhibition, the accompanying video offers a complementary perspective on the exhibition tour. Through its images, viewers can appreciate the fine details of the illustrations, the historical context in which the works were created and the heritage value they preserve today at the Biblioteca Històrica, the Biblioteca del Jardí Botànic and the Biblioteca Historicomèdica.
