International Library Week 2026

The Library and Documentation Service, in collaboration with UVInternational, is organising the International Staff Week for Librarians 2026, which will take place in Valencia from 4 to 8 May 2026 under the theme Libraries and AI: Innovation with a Human Touch.

This international week is aimed at library and information professionals interested in the current and future application of artificial intelligence in library services, including research support, training and information literacy, user services, and sustainability initiatives.

The programme will feature interactive sessions, expert-led discussions, visits to University of Valencia libraries, and networking opportunities with colleagues from European universities. The event seeks to explore how technological innovation can be integrated into library services in an ethical, responsible, and human-centred way.

Registration opens on January 12.
