Micro-Mooc Open Science

More than thirty professionals from university libraries and European entities collaborate in this initiative

On the occasion of the International Open Access Week, the Open University of Catalonia promotes, between October 21 and 25, a free online course on Open Science by Twitter. This microMOOC is a pioneering initiative that has the support of eighteen universities throughout the State, the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and five European collaborators.

Every day, from October 21 to 25, from the Twitter account @moocmicro, the focus will be on a different aspect, from data management and preservation to responsible research and innovation, through new ways of evaluating research . This initiative is especially aimed at researchers and university students, but it is open to anyone who wants to connect with the Open Science movement and obtain a transversal vision. That is why the dissemination of the contents will be done using a simple and informative language.

The contents will be published in five languages: English, Catalan, Spanish, Basque and Galician. Only the preferred label should be chosen depending on the language and the publication schedule:

● # OpenScienceMOOC19 (English) - 9 am
● # CiènciaObertaMOOC19 (Catalan) - 10 am
● # CienciaAbiertaMOOC19 (Spanish) - 11 am
● # CienciaAbertaMOOC19 (Galician) - 12 h
● # ZientziaIrekiaMOOC19 (Basque) - 13 h

Universities unite for open science

By promoting free access to thought and research, universities can contribute to the achievement of the great global challenges defined in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The objective is that knowledge reaches the maximum number of people possible and that it is collaborative, so that it can be enriched with new contributions.
