XVIII Environmental Documentation Centers and Protected Natural Spaces Seminar

XVIII Environmental Documentation Centers and Protected Natural Spaces Seminar was be held at the Universitat de València in 24, 25 and 26 of July. The Seminar was organized by the Vice-rectorship of Equality, Diversity and Sustainability of the UV and ONUBIB.

The idea of ​​organizing a seminar dedicated to the Documentation Centers of Environment and Protected Natural Areas was raised following the analysis of the data of a questionnaire sent from the National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM), Valsain (Segovia) - SPAIN. This center promotes the responsibility of citizens in relation to the environment, dedicating their resources to the service of all those groups, public and private, that develop environmental education and training programs and activities.

  • General objectives of the seminar:
  • Promote, facilitate and disseminate collaboration, the exchange of information and knowledge, experiences and interesting projects related to the environment, environmental information and protected natural spaces.
  • Expand the RECYCLED network and participate in national and international projects and experiences.
  • Share resources that optimize investments.
  • Develop services and products that improve access to environmental information and help in document management.

In 2002, the Seminar on Documentation Centers in the field of Environment was established, within the program of Permanent Seminars of CENEAM.
The XVIII edition of this seminar has been held in the city of Valencia, with the support of the University of Valencia, the Faculty of Law and the Generalitat Valenciana, in the Colegio Mayor Rector Peset and in the Center d'Educació Ambiental de la Comunitat Valenciana (CEACV) located in Sagunto.
The Coordination has been in charge of Rosario Toril. Documentation Center of CENEAM and Chelo Pons. Responsible for the UN Depository Library (ONUBIB). Social Sciences Library University of Valencia With the technical collaboration of Montse Grabolosa. Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa. Generalitat of Catalunya
More than 50 professionals have attended, belonging to the Network of Environmental Information and Documentation Centers (RECIDA) from 16 autonomous communities.
We had the opportunity to learn from the experiences presented both in communication and poster format, from the workshops taught and to exchange various publications provided by the centers. The visits were an ideal complement to know the surroundings and other centers. In short, a magnificent meeting to maintain professional contacts.
