The Universitat de València and the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana) have launched the Chair for Economic and Social Policy of the Valencian Region with the aim of promoting knowledge on this area, which is fundamental for decision-making. In this way, it is an indispensable element when it comes to establishing the main guidelines for governmental action in this area.

The aim in the creation of this Chair is to develop programmes of research, training, culture and reflection focused on knowledge, analysis and the promotion of public policies in the economic and social sphere. The main tasks of the Chair will consist in carrying out acts and activities related to the investigation, promotion and dissemination of initiatives that contribute to the dynamism of economic and social policies in the Valencian Community.
