On 30 October 2025, the Universitat de València will host the 1st BUVAL Libraries Meeting, organised by the university’s Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació. The event will take place at the La Nau building and will bring together representatives from all Valencian universities that are part of the consortium.
The meeting will open in the Capella de la Sapiència with a welcome address by Cristina Tomás, Technical Director of the BUVAL Consortium, and Carlos Hermenegildo, Vice-Rector for Research at the Universitat de València. Afterwards, Paloma Garrido (UJI) and Encarna Rodríguez (UMH) will present an overview of the consortium.
The programme includes parallel sessions of BUVAL’s working groups, which will review their recent activities and plan for the 2025–2026 period. The groups on Acquisitions, Open Science, Interlibrary Loan, Web and Communication, and Library Management Systems, along with the Technical Committee, will all take part.
Later, all teams will join a plenary session to share conclusions and define common objectives for the coming years. The event will conclude with a presentation on the UV’s commitment to critical information by María Iranzo-Cabrera, and the introduction of PressReader, a digital press access platform.
