CORE is a global open-access scientific document collector managed by The Open University and JISC. It currently contains the records of 132.7 million documents collected from 3,650 repositories and thousands of journals around the world, with the aim of making them freely and unrestrictedly available to the public.

CORE collects all metadata records from repositories (institutional, thematic and journal publishers) containing the full text of the documents in PDF format. This collection process provides multiple search, filtering, querying and analysis functions from metadata and the full text.
This global collector also offers services to scientific and academic content providers (institutions, libraries, program developers, researchers, etc.). In addition, CORE enriches scientific content through a set of services that includes search and analysis tools and application programming interfaces (APIs), with the aim of contributing to a cultural change to promote the open access movement.
