On November 19, 2025, the Biblioteca Històrica of the Universitat de València held a special event dedicated to Valencian writer Maria Beneyto (1920-2011), one of the most important voices in contemporary literature in Valencian. For the seventh consecutive year, the institution joined the celebration of Valencian Book Day with a continuous public reading, which this year focused on her most emblematic narrative work, La dona forta.

This activity, now firmly established in the cultural calendar of the Universitat de València, aims to promote the Valencian language and culture, highlight local authors and literary works, and bring the bibliographic heritage of the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació closer to society. Throughout the day, students, university staff and members of the cultural community read selected passages from Beneyto’s work, known for its literary depth and strong linguistic commitment.
