From May 4 to 8, the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació of the Universitat de València, with the support of UVinternacional, hosted a new edition of its International Staff Week, this year focused on the integration of artificial intelligence into library services from a human-centred, responsible and collaborative perspective.
The event brought together professionals from European university libraries for a highly productive week marked by the exchange of knowledge, experiences and reflections on the opportunities and challenges that AI presents in the library field.
The sessions generated great interest among participants, with discussions on the current state of AI in libraries, available tools, staff training, chatbots applied to library services, as well as issues related to ethics and the environmental impact of emerging technologies.
Throughout the week, participants had the opportunity to discover different spaces and services of the Universitat de València through visits to the Biblioteca de Ciències Socials, the Biblioteca d’Humanitats, the Botanical Garden Library and the Historical Library, alongside other academic and cultural activities.
