To mark June 28, the International LGTBI+ Pride Day, the Library Service of the University of Valencia reaffirms its commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion through various activities and initiatives across its spaces and communication channels.
As in previous years, rainbow banners will be displayed on several university buildings to highlight and support LGTBI+ rights. This year, the banners will be visible at Centre Cultural La Nau, home of Biblioteca Històrica, the Biblioteca de Ciències Socials “Gregori Maians”, the Biblioteca de Ciències “Eduard Boscà” and at Campus d’Ontinyent.
In addition, several libraries have organized thematic activities focusing on sexual and gender diversity:
-
At the Humanities Library, a virtual collection featuring LGTBI+ resources has been created and is available via the TROBES catalog. A selection of print books is also on display near the lending desk.
-
At the Sciences Library, a book exhibition has been prepared, centered on LGTBI+ topics to promote visibility and reflection.
-
At the Psychology and Sport Library, another bibliographic display related to the LGTBI+ community is available to all members of the university community.
-
At the Education Library they have prepared the 28J point of interest.
Through these initiatives, the Library Service aims to contribute to a more open, inclusive, and respectful university, while highlighting the role of knowledge and culture in the defense of human rights and equality.
