On Wednesday, December 13, the Biblioteca Histórica opens a new exhibition entitled "LIBRORVM FRAGMENTA: Incunabula and manuscripts reused in the Biblioteca Histórica", curated by Professor Francisco M. Gimeno Blay.

The exhibition showcases a selection of fragments of books, manuscripts and incunabula that were recycled in order to reintermediate later ones. This action has made it possible to locate works from different parts of Europe. Among the fragments identified, an 11th-12th century homiliary has been located, which is the oldest manuscript in the custody of the University of Valencia. Paper sheets from incunabula were also used in the book religatures, as can be seen in some of the books on display. Thanks to this exhibition, the Historical Library has been able to locate up to six fragmentary incunabula, the existence of which was unknown.

The exhibition can be visited in the Duque de Calabria Room of the Historical Library until April 7.
