LOCUS AMOENUS. LIGHTS AND SHADOWS THE JOYOUS COUNTERPOINT

  • May 8th, 2024

"Locus Amoenus. Lights and Shadows: The Joyous Counterpoint" is an exhibition of paintings that explores the peace, harmony, and luminosity of landscapes and spaces experienced by the artist. These works aim to convey serenity and balance, showcasing places where nature and human expression coexist in harmony. The paintings reflect moments of calm and contemplation, inviting viewers to enjoy beauty in a world that is often frenetic and directionless.

INAUGURATION: May 16 at 6:30 p.m. Ground Floor of the "Joan Reglà" Humanities Library.

Cándido Solaz, the author of this exhibition, is a Valencian artist with a long career in graphic design and applied arts. After decades of working in advertising and design, in 2018 he decided to refocus his career toward personal art, dedicating himself to portraiture and landscapes. Throughout his career, he has received awards for his creative talent and has exhibited his work at various important events. In this show, Solaz offers a counterpoint to the daily rush, with works that evoke calm, relaxation, and sensory enjoyment.
