Trobes

Trobes is the library's discovery tool, a single window for searching all the information that makes up the University's physical and electronic collection. Over the last few months, a study has been made of the use made of it and a series of changes have been defined to improve the experience of searching and locating information.

The result can now be seen on the catalogue website.

Among the most notable changes are:

• Two new functionalities: digital collections and press news search. The collections are a very visual way to disseminate and enhance access to certain books in our print collection. They are thematic in nature. We have started with three collections on comics, popular science and heritage.
• Updating of the home page, to make it clearer and more in line with institutional aesthetics.
• Simplification of the search profiles, reducing them to four and defining the catalogue search as the default search, with the aim of promoting the use of the local collection. The other profiles we will use are: RODERIC, articles and more; BUVAL Search and Old Collection.
• Simplification of the presentation of the full descriptions of the records.
• A more complete simple search, with the possibility of setting limits on document types and fields to search in the initial menu, a priori. This avoids having to resort to the advanced search or the use of facets in the results.
• Adaptation to inclusive language free of library jargon.

Access from the web has also been changed and updated to the new parameters. We hope that this new version meets your needs and expectations.
