On 28 and 29 May, the Albacete Campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) hosts the 21st REBIUN Workshop on Digital Projects, a key forum for discussion and the exchange of experiences related to digital innovation in university libraries.
Within the framework of the workshop, Cristina Tomàs, Director of the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació of the Universitat de València, moderated the panel discussion The social role of university libraries, which addressed libraries’ commitment to society, knowledge transfer and their role as active agents in educational and cultural contexts. The panel featured contributions from Olga Moreno, Fernando Martín and Mabela Casal.
In addition, the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació contributed to the scientific programme with the presentation Digital Humanities at the Biblioteca d’Humanitats Joan Reglà of the Universitat de València. A pathway to enhancing the visibility of educational innovation and research projects, delivered by Eva Montilla, Don Martínez and Elisa Pastor, from the Secció d’Informació of the Biblioteca d’Humanitats. The presentation highlighted the role of university libraries in promoting, supporting and disseminating research and innovation initiatives linked to digital humanities.
Participation in this workshop underscores the Servei de Biblioteques i Documentació’s commitment to interuniversity cooperation, innovation and digital transformation, as well as to the development of new services aimed at supporting teaching, research and knowledge transfer.
