Third-year students of the Modern Languages and Literatures degree (German major) undertake a creative activity that intertwines literature and audiovisual art: the production of a short film in which they offer a visual interpretation of a brief literary text in German.

This activity is part of the INNOVA-TEA educational innovation project.

This activity is part of the INNOVA-TEA educational innovation project, which aims to implement advanced creative, inclusive, performing arts, and digital methodologies in university teaching, with a focus on interdisciplinarity, student participation, and the use of digital tools in higher education. In this context, the video project for this course is based on the following principles:

  • Intercultural and bilingual collaboration: given the participation of local, Spanish-speaking students as well as native German-speaking students (Erasmus), the experience fosters co-production, linguistic and cultural exchange, and mutual enrichment.
  • Transformation of the literary text: the project aims to have students not only analyze a literary text in German—which already falls within their area of specialization—but also "translate" it into an audiovisual format. This process involves decisions regarding script and mise-en-scène and promotes aspects such as literary sensitivity and visual thinking, in addition to collaborative work.
