The Faculty of Physic and the Library and Documentation Service of the University of Valencia have signed a new agreement with the Institute of Physics (IOP), aimed at offering important benefits to research staff. This agreement, which runs from 2024 to 2026, guarantees a number of key benefits.
Firstly, the Universitat de València will maintain access to the complete IOP Science Extra collection. In addition, thanks to this agreement, all UV authors will have the opportunity to publish their articles in open access in both hybrid and Gold Open Access (OA) journals, covering a total of 76 titles, of which 55 are hybrid and 21 are Gold OA.
A salient feature of this agreement is its retrospective application from January 1, 2024. This means that UV authors who have already paid an APC (Article Processing Charge) will be able to apply for reimbursement. This measure is an important step to promote open access and support the work of the university's researchers.
The transformative agreement with IOP is part of the “Read & Publish” model, which combines access to subscribed content with the possibility of publishing in open access, thus promoting more accessible and visible research. This collaboration will contribute to increase the dissemination and impact of the research carried out at the University of Valencia.
