The Library and Documentation Service (SBD) of the University of Valencia has achieved a new recognition that strengthens its path towards excellence. Following an evaluation conducted last March, the service has been awarded the EFQM 500 Quality Seal, with a score of 576 points, positioning itself as a benchmark in quality management, innovation, and sustainability within the university sector.
The official award ceremony took place on June 10th during the 16th University Management Conference, organized by the Universities Forum of the Club for Excellence in Management, under the theme "Institutional Innovation: Strategic Foresight to Address the Challenges of Higher Education". The event was held at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and brought together leaders from the academic, business, and technology sectors.
The conference addressed strategic topics such as institutional accreditation, the use of artificial intelligence to optimize management, data-driven decision-making, and the university-business connection as a driver of impact and change.
Cristina Tomás, Director of the Library and Documentation Service, received the seal on behalf of the team, in recognition of their collective effort to integrate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across all areas of the service.
With this achievement, the SBD reaffirms its commitment to public service quality, digital transformation, and active contribution to sustainable development in the university context.
