For two years, the Cartoteca, in collaboration with the Laboratori d’Anàlisi i Diagnòstic de l’Obra d’Art, intervened in a series of maps from the 19th century to guarantee their conservation, as well as to be able to digitize the materials.
To show this process and 15 of the pieces, on October 5, the exhibition "Recovering the University's heritage: maps and plans from the 19th century" was inaugurated at the Facultat de Geografia i Història with the presence of the rector, Mavi Mestre. A seminar was also held.
Now the virtual version of this exhibition is presented, as well as the recording of the seminar. The claim is that it is useful as an example of heritage treatment, in this case, cartographic. In addition, from the exhibition you can link to SOMNI, the UV bibliographic heritage repository, where almost all the intervened pieces are already accessible.
