QR stands for Quick Response. They allow a scanner (usually built into a smartphone) to process the data it contains and execute it on the fly.

The QR code is simply an improved version of the traditional two-dimensional barcode.

The big visual difference is that QR codes have a square shape and include delimiters that indicate where the key information to be read in the code is located.

A QR code consists of a square graphic with a pattern of information in the form of dots and lines in black and white.

There are currently two types of QR codes:

  • Static QR codes, which always contain the same information once created.
  • Dynamic QR codes, which are created for those cases in which the information included must be updated periodically without the need to change the code.

The structure that makes up a QR code is designed to keep the information readable by a scanner, even if it is dark or damaged.
