On Monday 30 October at 19:00 there will be a conference entitled "Joan Fuster. Escrits sobre el Tirant lo Blanc" in the Plaça del Llibre in Valencia, with the participation of Mireia Ferrando Simón and Salvador Ortells.

Joan Fuster took a particular interest to Tirant Lo Blanc throughout his life, but his approaches to the greatest novel in Catalan medieval literature have received little attention before now. These Fusterian readings are examined in detail in this study, which traces the chronology of Fuster's attention to the work and analyses how the writer sought to recover 'Tirant' as a classic of Catalan literature, especially in the repressive context of Franco's regime. The exhaustive and thorough research of the documentation has made it possible to compile his various writings on 'Tirant' - journalistic articals, studies, letters, conferences - and has brought to light some unpublished works. Edited and annotated for the first time, this collection is a literary and historical testimony of the highest order. This monograph, which has been awarded the Joan Coromines Research Prize in Filology, History or Culture (2022) by the Societat Coral El Micalet, contributes to a new evaluation of Joan Fuster's invaluable contribution to the knowledge and understanding of our cultural history.
