Universal Accessibility

The Universal Accessibility Program was elaborated in order to achieve a more accessible university, through the elimination of barriers or obstacles in the University of Valencia. It refers to three areas: Physics and Electronics Accessibility and Communication Barriers.

Physics Accessibility

We collect and process complaints from the university community (students with disabilities, Teachers and Administration)about barriers and obstacles existent around physical environment in our UV

After checking the afore mentioned barriers, we proceed to issue the appropriate reports of Accessibility, which are sent to the specific units: Technical Unit or Technical Service of Maintenance, belonging to the University of Valencia.

Electronics Accessibility

Due to the increaseing activity of using the network in the university environment, from this unit (UVdisability), and with the collaboration of the TIC Vice-president and the Computer Service of this University, the necessary measures are carried out in order that our website service is as accessible as possible to the whole population.

Communication Barriers

The way to eliminate the communication barriers that deaf university students have in this university is through the sign language interpreter; that´s why UVdisability offers this service through the agreement established with the Deaf Federation of the Valencia Community (Fesord CV).

On the one hand we offer a Sign Language Interpreter for classes, tutorials, seminars or workshops. On the other hand we offer a sign language interpreter in exams, giving the opportunity to the deaf student to do the exam in sign language... in this case the exam will be recorded, and the tape will be given to the teacher with a literal transcription of the answers.
